PUM Dutch Senior Experts to meet with Filipino entrepreneurs
March 13, 2006, Monday 8:30 am - 2:00 pm
Laguna Garden Café, Ayala Business Park, Cebu City

Senior officers of PUM Netherlands Senior Experts, formerly known as the Netherlands Management Cooperation Programme (NMCP), will be visiting the Philippines to hold a conference with small and medium enterprises and business enabling organizations. In partnership with the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Manila, PUM will meet with the Filipino business community at Laguna Garden Café, Ayala Business Park, Cebu City on March 13, 2006, Monday 8:30 am - 2:00 pm.

Together with the local PUM representatives, CEO Mr. Jan Röben, Country Coordinator Mr. Ton Hens, and Ms. Grisella Indemans, Project Officer for the Philippines will discuss how private enterprises and public and private business enabling organizations in the Philippines can access and benefit from PUM services.

For over 25 years PUM has been deploying senior experts to companies and organizations in 80 developing countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Central & Eastern Europe. With a database of some 4,000 senior experts, around 2,000 projects are completed per year. PUM can provide experts in every imaginable area of industry, agriculture, trade and management, as well as in such fields as health care, occupational education, the environment and a range of public sector services. PUM provides professional advice on a whole range of business matters ranging from management and organization, finance, personnel, information technology, production, marketing, sales, product/service development and technology. In the Philippines, approximately 100 projects have been completed in the last 6 years. In 2005, about 50 percent of PUM missions in the Philippines were completed in Mindanao in the sectors of agriculture, agro-industry, printing and publishing, accounting and finance, timber processing, and energy and water.

PUM experts are independent and work from altruistic motives. They receive no financial consideration for their services. Drawing from their professional experience and know-how, they are uniquely equipped to advise and support businesses and institutions. They volunteer their advice free of charge while PUM takes care of the international traveling costs and insurance. As a small share to the project cost, the applicant or the local company covers the food, lodging and transportation of the consultant during their mission.

By offering targeted and practical advice, PUM helps businesses and organizations to improve their position while at the same time trying to make a contribution to the development of a social market economy in those countries where the experts are active. Other PUM goals are to retain or increase employment opportunities, stimulate the use of environmentally friendly production techniques, and to raise international cooperation to new levels.

PUM is financed by the Dutch government, the European Union and VNO-NCW the largest employers' organization in the Netherlands. International organizations like the United Nations and the World Bank also support PUM.

Local business owners and business movers both from the private and public sector are encouraged to attend this conference in Cebu City to know how PUM services can fit into their growing business needs. For more information and confirmation of attendance, contact Cherry Padua, mobile number +63(917)474-8123.
